bestUV awarded to deliver BetaLine UV systems for a zoo

Dutch manufacturer bestUV is again awarded to deliver ultraviolet (UV) systems for disinfection of water to one of the largest zoos in Europe. The delivery is part of a renovation project to improve the water quality for the animals and visitors.

The bestUV systems, series BetaLine-E, are all equipped with multiple ‘state-of-the-art’  high-efficient UV lamps, with stable operation in a wide temperature range during the entire lamp life.

BetaLine UV series were introduced to the market after intense microbiological validation procedures at the veterinary university for physiology, pathophysiology and biophysics. The BetaLine UV series is as well approved by several international health institutes for use of disinfection of water for consumption (including Önorm, FHI and PZH).

The availability of bestUV’s intelligent microprocessor allows the UV system to operate in the most economic power mode. By use of the intelligent microprocessor, the bestUV system runs exactly on the power needed to fulfill minimum UV dose requirements, even when flow and surface water quality change, which is important for use in zoos.

The local company installed already several bestUV systems and selected for above project again the bestUV systems for reasons of proven reliability, effectiveness, easy maintenance and good price/quality ratio.

Two waterworks select BetaLine UV systems

ByglandsfjordDutch UV manufacturer bestUV is again selected to deliver Önorm validated BetaLine UV systems for two scandinavian communal drinking water plants. The drinking water is mechanical filtered surface water and origins from the lake. The two waterworks decided to replace some low-pressure (LP) UV systems, installed in the 80‘s, by ‘state-of-the-art’ bestUV systems.

BetaLine UV systems were introduced to the market after intense validation procedures at universities for Water hygiene, (Patho)physiology and Biophysics. They are approved by several international health institutes for use in disinfection of water for human consumption. 

Bygland_and_JordalsboeBetaLine is a compact UV system, equipped with unique high-efficient low-pressure UV lamps. They operate in automatic mode on the most economic lamp power due to bestUV’s intelligent power controlsystem. The bestUV system runs exactly on the power needed to fulfill minimum UV dose requirements, even when flow and surface waterquality change.

Compared to medium-pressure (MP) UV systems the BetaLine is saving a lot of energy and has thus the lowest carbon footprint, which fit into the ‘environmental phylosophy’ of the waterworks. 

The engineers selected bestUV systems for a couple of reasons:

  • lowest investment costs,
  • 15 years lifecycle costs calculation (LCC),
  • long lamp life, 3x more compared to medium-pressure UV lamps
  • easy installation and maintenance,
  • automatic lamppower controlsystem, resulting in minimum use of energy,
  • automatic cleaning device, included in Önorm validation tests,
  • proven reliability at many drinking water references.

Again bestUV systems are disinfecting drinking water for human consumption against lowest costs on a very environmental friendly way and thus preserve and protect the beautiful nature.

bestUV systems for cosmetics industry in Eastern-Europe

bestUV was again awarded for delivery of several bestUV systems for a cosmetics company in Eastern-Europe.

The bestUV systems, integrated in the water treatment loop, are used for the following purposes e.g.: 

  • disinfection
  • deozonation
  • dechlorination
  • TOC reduction

All applications require their own specific UV dose (mJ/cm2) to be effective. UV for the disinfection process is totally different from the other processes. For breakdown of ozone (O3), free chlorine (HOCl/OCl-) and Total Organic Carbons (TOC) a much higher UV dose is required compared to disinfection and in some cases different combinations of UV lamps and quartz sleeves are required.

Besides bestUV’s decades of application knowledge, a very important strength of bestUV is the possibility to customize the bestUV systems according to the endusers’ requirements. The bestUV systems follow the highest standards in cosmetics and pharmaceutics industries, such as, but not limited to:
